Graeme O'Donnell had the money to pay for the pounds 10.99 crate, but while waiting in a queue at the Co-op, on Trafford, Allerdene, Gateshead, he decided to walk out without stumping up the cash.

The theft was captured on CCTV, he was recognised and brought before Gateshead magistrates. O'Donnell, 34, of Carnforth Gardens, Beacon Lough, Gateshead, admitted shop theft and was fined pounds 65 with pounds 100 costs and must pay the shop for the crate.

Prosecutor Justin Gibson said that when arrested, O'Donnell, who has 46 previous convictions for theft, said: "I will hold my hands up to it." He added: "It was Chloe Handags Replica a moment of madness."

John Williams, defending, described it as a stupid offence with "no sophistication" because it was captured on CCTV and carried out in front of lots of people.
