EXETER jeweller and former St Loye's College trainee Ivor Doble is supporting Team St Loye's in the Great West Run on Sunday, May 2. Mr Doble's link with St Loye's dates back to 1946 when he was a young trainee in the charity's horology department.
He was top of his class and took in watches for repair, laying the foundation for his career as a jeweller.
Mr Doble said: "I have many fond memories of my time at St Loye's and I am more than happy to be supporting its team in the Great West Run."
Sexy DressesMoney raised by Team St Loye's will fund grants designed to help trainees overcome personal barriers before they return to the workplace. Helen Trebble, St Loye's Foundation events fundraiser, said: "Even Sexy Clothes small donations make a big difference toward helping our trainees achieve employment and financial independence.
"We are delighted Ivor Doble is sponsoring our team and are asking runners with places in the half marathon and 5K run to pick us as their chosen charity to support. In return we offer a running top and discounts on sports and fitness."
