Sneak thieves take disability

A DISABILITY badge was stolen from an elderly woman by two thieves who sneaked into her home in North Moor Road, Scotter, while she was outside.

The crooks struck at about 4.10pm on Tuesday. They grabbed the pensioner's handbag, which contained the badge and an amount of cash, then fled.

The men were in their 20s and both short to medium height.

One had dark, short, curly hair and the other was wearing navy blue clothes.

They were last seen heading towards Messingham along North Moor Road.

Anyone with information should call police on (01427) 810910 with the reference number 303 of September 1. The theft was one of a number in the past few days.

On Tuesday, September 1, children's bikes were taken from a shed in Ashtree Close, Belton.

Hairforce salon in Ashby Road was also broken into and a DVD player was taken.

At Aldi supermarket in Glebe Road, Scunthorpe, thieves forced shutters and stole alcohol.

On Saturday, August 28, a four-wheel-drive vehicle was taken from a drive in Crowle Road, Eastoft.

CD players were stolen from cars parked in Cemetery Road, Scunthorpe, and The Fairways, Scunthorpe.

In Station Road, Epworth, a crook who broke in through a window took a Rolex watch, an Apple laptop, an iPod, a mobile phone, a Nintendo Touchmaster game, cash, bank cards and a Kawasaki motorcycle.
